john b. flushing

I’m currently living in a two bedroom apartment and have decided that I could use the second bedroom for more than just storing old crap that I really don’t need anymore. I’ve been listing and selling aggressively on eBay and freeing up space to give myself the office/me room that I’ve needed for a while. I’m hoping this room will help me continue to focus, read, and write on a regular basis without the distractions of my living room.

Today, I got up and drove around the corner to my cousin’s new place for her step dad’s birthday breakfast. After that kick ass meal consisting of fresh blueberry pancakes (fluffy too I might add), bacon, and juice…the birthday boy and I ran across town where I had found a chair the other day for a good price. We picked it up and I moved it into the focus room today. It didn’t take long for the roommate to take up residence in it, but now I have a great chair to read and write and get away from the tv and other distractions from the cold drafty living room.

The Chair is ugly, but in very good shape and was hardly used. For what I spent on it, it is 1000 times better than what I spotted at the salvation army thrift store and was only $35 more. The ones at the Salvation Army thrift smelled like shit and had burns in most of them and the chairs were pretty much shot. This one may be ugly…but it’s clean and doesn’t smell like shit.

Nothing too exciting really happened today other than the chair. Just enjoyed having the day off and the time to get my semester mapped out since I’m taking a couple classes .
