Marching to the beat of my own drum.

I have been slowly accumulating what I need to successfully be able to complete the Cesspools demo that I have been working on for some time. Because of my living situation and lack of rehearsal space, I will be tracking the demo using a Roland TD-4 that I’m planning on purchasing soon. I have played a number of electronic drum kits lately and the only other one that I was partial to was the Yamaha DTX550K, but the holiday pricing on the Roland TD-4s sealed the deal for me financially.

I chose to record it this way because I’m living in a townhouse and don’t want to draw attention to myself or piss the neighbors off. I have always been against using electronic drums up until this point. The drums sounds I will be using sound great and by putting down the tracks this way, it will have a natural sound and style. It’s been a while since I have had the luxury of playing drums and love how therapeutic it feels after a good session.

A few new records I’ve heard and liked recently are the new Cee-Lo Brown, Stephen Egerton (Descendents guitarist solo record), the new Social Distortion single out on iTunes this week, and Dr. Dre’s new single Kush (feat. Akon and Snoop Dogg).

Check em out!
