Getting ready to record
December has been a very busy month for me. A couple years ago I decided to go back to school and finish a degree I started many beers ago. Next weekend I will have accomplished the goal of finally finishing my bachelors degree and walking across the stage to accept that. Many are asking, now that I’m done with school what are my plans? My plans are to reconnect with my creative side and put out a record that I’ve wanted to record for a while. I will be working on building new websites and custom blog themes and learning how to
operate a new project studio that I’m slowly putting together.
I’ve written more papers this month than I ever care to do again (unless I’m getting paid) and have been going to work in a stressed out over dramatic work-place to pay the rent. I can’t remember the last time I saw someone smile in the office and it actually mean they were happy. I’m looking forward to the holidays and having some time off to spend with friends, family, my fiance, and work on The Cesspools.
Gym Nauseaum has really helped me out big time with getting my project studio ready so that I can continue working on more material between times when we can get together. I’m excited and really have a bright outlook for this next year.
I will be back to updating this site at least once a week. Feel free to holler at me with questions, ideas, suggestions, etc.
Happy Holidays everyone!

The Cesspools Update
So I’m still without the plaid pants, but I’m going to survive…until they go on sale. There’s really no reason to follow up with Part 2 of the story until my next encounter.
So I began my project with The Cesspools about a year with the intentions of not taking any of it seriously. As I have begun preparing to go into the studio in January I find myself trying to perfect something that has no business being perfected. That said…I still wanted to release something that I would be proud of. This first (yet to be titled) release has been influenced by old school punk bands such as The Damned, Buzzcocks, The Adicts, etc.
The record will also feature some guest artists that I am bringing in to supplement the talent that I don’t have vocally, on bass, and for a second guitar. I will continue to update the progress of this record periodically. This morning in the shower, I had an idea for one of the songs and recorded it on a tape recorder before leaving the house this morning.
If I didn’t have to come to work, I could get this out alot quicker.
John B. Flushing Update
Greetings Earthlings!
I am blogging to let everyone know that I’m still around. I have been extremely busy and as most of you know, blogging can be very time consuming. In real life I’m working on finishing up my degree and that has absolutely sucked the creativity out of my life. I’m working on a huge project and seem to also be writing a weekly 7-8 page paper every Wednesday night. On top of all this I’ve been going through physical therapy and getting back to drumming. I try to get in 8-10 hours each week drumming and getting it all back. I’ve missed playing and will soon have the time to finish working on The Cesspools record and get that out. I also have several short comedy pieces in the works, but once again don’t have the time to complete this project at the moment.
I’ll try and be better about posting more and hopefully the creative bug will bite me soon because I’m really missing out right now. I did however come up with a marketing idea for a Krystal Halloween Haunted Combo Pack- It contains 6 Krystal burgers, 6 oz of fries, and a 6 ounce drink…with the idea that this combo meal will come back to haunt you (sharting, or crapping your pants, etc.)
