just a brief update
I haven’t really had much to write about this past week. I’ve sort of been in geek mode designing new wordpress themes and finding better ways to design websites. I’ve also rediscovered the mindlessness of video games. After two nights of playing…I actually unhooked it and put it away because I have too much to work on to get sucked in to a basketball game from 2004. I did down load the Snoop Dogg voice skin for our GPS and have found that even driving to the grocery store is fun again despite the fact that I have no use for a GPS in town.
I bought a new couch and loveseat about a month ago and feel a rant coming on. I’m not happy with the couch. The place where I bought it has all the guarantees in the world for it. I am calling them tomorrow and then I’m sure they will set up having an official inspector come out…the love seat seems fine and has firm cushions, but the couch feels like I’m sitting on a mattress that has been f%$#@d flat. I’ll include this in a new category called consumer reviews and will put all raves and rants about products and companies in that category.
OK, I have a ton of stuff to do before tomorrow night…

Getting Stupid with Cupid
I haven’t had a cold that kicked my ass as hard as this one has in a long while. This one has been kicking for about a week now and I’m finally feeling better, but not 100% yet…then again..I’m probably never 100% any time.
I went out to dinner last night for an early birthday dinner and to see a band we’re thinking of booking for our wedding reception in June. After dinner we had a few errands to run and thought we’d swing by target. All of these people were last minute shopping for a Valentine’s Day card and since we were both there and didn’t see the need to spend money on a card…we each picked a card and then handed it to one another and read them. We both said happy valentine’s day, kissed, laughed and then continued on with our evening.
I’ve been following the Olympics, which is always a nice break from typical programming. I was randomly glued to the biathlon earlier today where the participants would ski for a bit and then stop and shoot, then ski on for a bit and then stop and shoot. I would be a little nervous competing against someone with a loaded rifle on their back, but then again I shop at a ghetto Wal-Mart twice a month whether I need to or not.
What’s up with the crazy professor in Alabama who shot her colleagues over not getting tenured? It’s not like all the clues weren’t there before this all happened…apparently having some involvement in a package bomb in the early 90′s and the “accidental” death of her brother… I don’t have all the facts, but this lady has some problems (beyond issues).
Anyway, I’m working on a few more blogs that will be posted in a couple days, but wanted to post some filler today.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
The roof sounds like it’s about to blow off of my place…I’m going to go see what that’s all about.
Sick Day
I broke down and called the Dr. today and he called in a prescription for me. It was the typical Amoxicillin remedy which means…I have 10 days to take this and will be well regardless at the end of the 10 days. It’s all a head cold with all the symptoms…basically I feel like total shite.
I slept most of the day, but got restless and decided to work on the home studio for a little bit. I didn’t have the energy to actually record anything today, but have it set up and ready to go. Hope to record a little over the weekend. Can’t wait to start putting this stuff down and sharing it with everyone.
I wish my head would stop pounding…feels worse than a bad hangover.

Snowed In
It’s about 1 am and I’m sitting on the couch listening to music. The cat is on the cushion behind me and is curled up against the back of my head. There are 2-3 inches of snow built up outside the window and it is drafty and a little cool in my living room. I watched 500 Days of Summer tonight with my fiancé. It was pretty good. I watch so many movies and many of them I’d consider sub-par, but this one was pretty good. I’ve seen Joseph Gordon Levitt in a few movies since he was on 3rd Rock from the Sun and must admit, his roles have been fairly well chosen and the movies have been pretty good. JGL is not an actor that is regularly on the radar, but usually delivers a solid performance.
I only worked a half-day today because of the weather, then came home and napped for a couple hours. My fiancé cooked a most excellent dinner and then we played a couple games of 80’s Scene It Trivia. When will people learn not to make wagers with me when it comes to 80s trivia…monetary bets or not, you will lose! I’m the youngest of 4 and am just old enough to remember that entire decade. At least I won’t have to sit on the washer during the spin cycle for the next 6 loads of laundry or clean my bathroom and shower this week!
Back to working out some characters….
