Amusing trip to Target.

Today was pretty much like any other day. I got up, went to work, came home, cooked some dinner and then had a few errands to run before I sat down to unwind for the night. I needed a few items from Target my girlfriend joined me on what would turn out to be an entertaining little outing.  When we got to Target, it was much louder than normal. There were more kids than normal running around yelling like they were at Wal-Mart. There was a lady and her two sons who were there aimlessly shopping (loudly) when I started paying attention to the babbling.

(The two boys looked like they were probably 5 and 6…or possibly twins..)

Mom: Stop talking like a 2 year old

(kids continue babbling)

Mom: Stop talking like a 2 year old  or I’m going to wash your mouth out with soap.

kids (singing): soap in the mouth soap in the mouth, soap in the mouth

(they walk off)

A few minutes late next to the Father’s Day cards I run into them again-

5 year old: you don’t love us do you?

Mom: Yes, I love you, but right now I want to strangle you.

5 year old: you don’t love us….fine, I don’t love you.

Mom: Well then we’ll have something to talk about in therapy this week.

(A moment later still at the cards, one of the boys picks up a card and hands it to his mother)

6 year old: Here mom, this one says “Dad” on it….

Mom: No, (looking around like not realizing my girlfriend is right behind her) that one has a brown man on it.

6 year old: Then you find one!

5 year old: I don’t want to go to dad’s on Sunday, Saturday would be better for me….

Mom: You’ve got to be kidding me…you don’t have plans.

(they rolled off)

Now witnessing it was much more entertaining than my story probably was, but I was cracking up. There were other kids yelling and screaming and barking…usually I don’t hear that kind of stuff until the much later hours like when I’m on a midnight Wal-Mart run.

Sadly, that might have been one of the more eventful parts of my day today.

I’m a  little tired of writing at the moment, but will be blogging about some of my latest online discoveries. Online sit-coms, live talk shows, and people you might want to follow on twitter.

I really need to update The Lowbrow Society website, but don’t really feel like doing it tonight.

Wal-Mart lady! I don’t need to hear about your bathroom problems while you’re ringing my items up…if you’re sick, go home!
